Wielding a heat gun when she works, Carol Ettenger has found encaustic her medium of choice in which to express herself. It is an ancient Egyptian and Greek medium using hot, pigmented wax, which has enjoyed a renewed interest by artists in the last several decades. She is a contemporary abstract artist who has worked in several mediums, which have all lent depth to her expression. She has a long history of teaching and exhibitions. She teaches encaustics at her home studio.
