Deborah Steddom

Deborah Steddom and John Hyde are a married team, and they collaborate on every project. Deb and John built their spacious studio in the lower level of their Manitou Springs home, in the foothills of Pikes Peak. Deborah has been a professional stained glass artist since 1980. She is a Colorado native with a Fine Arts degree from Western State College. She has taught art in public schools and in troubled youth programs. John has been a professional stained glass artist since 1988. He has lived in Colorado since 1970, and has an English degree from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Each artist works on one project at a time, with ideas shared freely across the worktables. The secret to their successful collaboration is simple, according to John: "Artistic respect, abundant humor, and I do the cooking." Deb’s version is even simpler: "He’s my glass slave."
