Lizz Driscoll

Having been compelled since childhood to make art in various forms, I trained in the theatre as a costume and set designer, experimenting with materials of many sorts. Subsequent classes and workshops in drawing, oil, acrylic, watercolor and pastel as well as Art Glass…leaded, foiled, painted, and fused have nurtured my need to create. When health issues forced me to retire from the retail art materials trade, I found myself back in the studio working in watercolor and pastel. Discovering new materials now available for use in fused glass led to developing my take on fused glass painting. In my studio at Cottonwood Center for the Arts, I seek new ways to use the glass materials, to create glowing paintings with light, and an innovative approach to watercolor …my visual meditations.
