Sandra Prager

International from the outset, Sandra was born in Montclair, NJ, but raised in the South of France, with her English mother, an art-lover, who named her after Sandro Botticelli. As a young child, she was surrounded and influenced by artists, both well-known (such as Pablo Picasso, Fernand Leger, Claude Schurr, et al) and unknown. The beauty of the Mediterranean region also contributed to her passion to draw and paint. She traveled the world and settled in California in 1980. In 1993, she and her husband, Howard, moved to Colorado Springs. Her strong inner energy manifests in her drawings and paintings. Her color palette challenges nature for vivid accents and dominating contrasts that can startle or force the viewer to ponder the artist’s sensory rush. Some of her oil paintings are exhibited at The Hayden Hays Gallery at the Broadmoor Hotel. Her latest work can be seen by appointment at her Manitou Springs Studio.
