  way of coming out to her mother.\nSteam\nDirected by Kyle Schickner (USA\
 , 2007\, 120 min)\nWith star-studded ensemble performances of men and wome
 n\, Steam follows three women whose lives are very different\, but who all
  find love in unexpected places.  Ally Sheedy is a single mother strugglin
 g to find her voice\; the legendary Ruby Dee plays a widow who is rejuvena
 ted by a late-life romance\; and Kate Siegel is a college lesbian breaking
  free from her conservative family's strict hold.  All three experience ha
 rdship and heartache\, but find confidence and strength from their periodi
 c commiseration in a steam room. Steam speaks to the universality of the h
 uman experience and the resilient spirit that allows us to emerge triumpha
 nt.\nThe Pikes Peak Lavender Film Festival is the only completely LGBT fil
 m festival in Colorado\, and has been held in Colorado Springs since 1999.
  The festival programmers select from the best short films and features sc
 reened at the annual San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival. The L
 avender Film Festival is held over a three-day period\, opens on a Friday 
 evening with a reception before the screening of that night's short and fe
 ature. The remaining film programs are presented on Saturday and Sunday\, 
 being followed by after-parties at the Underground Bars on North Nevada Av
 enue.\n\nStart time: Reception at 6 p.m.\nFilm program begins at 8 p.m.
