2008-10-29\n\nKRCC Concerts is pleased to present DeVotchKa with special g
uests The Haunted Windchimes in concert.\n\nDenver's Devotchka has garnere
d international acclaim for their unique blend of Eastern European Gypsy p
unk\, folk-rock\, and indie rock sounds. Originally a backing band for bur
lesque shows\, in their early years DeVotchKa also toured with fetish mode
l Dita von Teese. Numerous nationwide tours in support of self released re
cords earned the band an underground following. Their song 'How It Ends' w
as featured on the trailer for the film Everything is Illuminated\, introd
ucing the band to a widening audience. Their performance at the 2006 Bonar
oo music festival was considered a breakout event. In between tours\, the
band was picked by first time film directors Jonathan Dayton and Valerie F
aris to score Little Miss Sunshine\, a film that would go on to garner fou
r Academy Award nominations\, as well as a Grammy nomination for Best Comp
ilation Soundtrack. This past summer\, Devotchka headlined Day One of the
two day Monolith Festival at Red Rocks Amphitheater.\nThe Haunted Windchim
es hail from Pueblo and have become a favorite of many in the Pikes Peak r
egion. Bill Forman of the Colorado Springs Independent writes\, 'Their rev
erence for the likes of Leadbelly and Robert Johnson\, artists long dead b
efore any of them were born\, is one thing\; their ability to play in that
tradition with such soulfulness and conviction is virtually unheard of fo
 r a group whose oldest member\, Inaiah [Lujan]\, just turned 25.'\n \nThis
is without a doubt a special Colorado music sandwich with Colorado Spring
s situated as the meat. All are encouraged to attend this delicious evenin
