DESCRIPTION:Event Name: Andy Eppler concert\nEvent Url: http://www.peakrada
 r.com/event/detail/36881/Andy_Eppler_concert\nEvent Date Begin: 2009-07-24
\nEvent Date End: 2009-07-24\n\nAndy Eppler is Americana to the core. In h
is work he explores themes such as disenchantment\, religiosity and the Am
erican way. His world-view is dystopian yet hopeful as he writes about the
world around him. Andy\, a product of West Texan grit and wisdom\, has de
dicated himself to making meaningful art. His first record 'There is No Un
derground' (2007) was a shotgun style record hitting many genres and topic
s with ferocity. The second record was the spoken word project 'Dark Place
s' in which Andy read selections of his poetry and short stories.. The thi
rd record was the breakthrough. 'Disease in the Heartland' was his West Te
xas styled biography that gave him international interest from Magazines\,
News Papers and Radio. Even more attention was gained when people found o
ut about Eppler's approach to making an album. He plays all the instrument
s\, writes all the material\, produces and masters his own records and des
igns the cover art. His records are a great example of art directly from t
he artist and free from the filters of others. 'Andy Eppler's new recordi
ng called 'Disease in the Heartland\,' a CD that\, upon the first of many
listenings\, immediately forced me to sit up and pay better attention. The
tunes are raw\, yet equally sensitive and hurting. They work as an invita
tion to explore both brain and heart. The cure for Eppler's 'Disease in th
e Heartland' may be the public's response to his words. This CD is a feroci
ous\, challenging\, individual step by a solo artist unwilling to play in
a place where people won't listen. He recorded it alone in his room - and
these songs may be best experienced the same way\, with no distractions.'
