 s an approach that is somewhat unique\; it also poses many of its own diff
 iculties. How do you choose your subject? What is the best way to set up? 
 How do you compete with the changing light conditions? How do you translat
 e the vast outdoors onto a small canvas? These kinds of questions will be 
 addressed during the workshop\, and the majority of the time will be spent
  painting at different locations in Colorado Springs. In order to avoid ba
 d weather\, we will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day. Meet at Co
 ttonwood with your supplies for the first day.\n\nDan has gained national 
 recognition for his figurative and landscape paintings through publication
 s such as Southwest Art magazine and through numerous galleries and shows 
 across the United States. His work has recently received awards from the A
 rt Renewal Center and the Portrait Society of America\, and the First Plac
 e award from the American Impressionist Society. He is also a signature me
