  Conservation is about more than the environment.  It's about people&helli
 p\;and communities.  Our quality of life\, health\, and economy are rooted
  in Colorado's natural landscape.\n\nColorado faces some of the greatest c
 onservation challenges in the nation.  And it responds with some of the gr
 eatest conservation successes&mdash\;championed by people for whom protect
 ing important places\, leading by example\, teaching our children about th
 e natural world\, and setting new benchmarks for a sustainable future are 
 a part of their daily lives.  On Wednesday October 3\, 2012\, Palmer Land 
 Trust will honor four of these champions at the 3rd annual Southern Colora
 do Conservation Awards (SCCA) in Colorado Springs. Nominations will be req
 uested from the community. Winners are selected by a Blue Ribbon Panel of
