The first Wednesday of every month, there will be a premiere of a film relating to human rights, international and foreign language, history and culture, or politics.  =0D=0A=The series will kick off on November 5 at 7 p.m.  with Heart of Fire. A story about a little girl (the young and fiery Awet) who–after spending the first 10 years of her life in a Catholic orphanage–excitedly learns that she is soon to be reunited with her family. But her hopes for a normal life are dashed when her father, a fanatical supporter of the Eritrean Liberation Front (a secessionist movement in Eritrea which sought Eritrea's independence from Ethiopia during the 1960s and 1970s), places Awet directly into the military forces' hands. At first willing to join the fight, she soon realizes that their enemies are just as human as she, and Awet makes a solemn vow never to kill. Labeled a traitor by the group's commander, the young Awet nevertheless courageously stands by her convictions and fights the violence in the disarming way that only a child could.=0D=0A=0D=0AStart time:7 p.m.
