They will be playing the complete Debussy Sonata for Violin and Piano. They performed some of this last year for the American Cancer Society fundraiser hosted by Classically Alive, and I am so looking to forward to hearing the complete sonata this time. They claim its better than a year ago!=0D=0A==0D=0A=Making their debut with Classically Alive will be husband/wife duo-pianists Paul Stephens and Jan Saffir. Jan will play solo piano, choosing repertoire she will be performing at the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) state convention in Denver in June 2009. Jan, a retired Professor of Piano from Truman State in Missouri (but now very busy in the Springs), will play works by Scarlatti, Chopin and Gershwin.=0D=0A==0D=0A=The odd-man out, amidst the couples performers, Abe Minzer, will play some Chopin as well. And of course, being it is Memorial Day Weekend, we will have Stars and Stripes for the 2-pianos/4 pianists. I think we'll have to figure out how to get Jan on violin into the act somehow. But, let's first see if 4 pianists can get along :)=0D=0A==0D=0A=0D=0AStart time:4:30 p.m.
