Dragon Theatre Open Auditions
Date Posted: 05/21/12
Organization: Imagination Celebration
City: Colorado Springs
Description:
Dragon Theatre Productions, a program of Imagination Celebration, has announced open auditions for their summer 2012 production, Blaze the Sky: Dragon Stories for Everyone. Auditions for all ages and all skill levels are set for Wednesday and Thursday, May 30 and 31 at Celebration Place at The Citadel. Audition times are 6:00 to 8:00 pm each day, on a drop-in basis.
Any individual who auditions and can make the performance commitment is given an opportunity to perform. Dragon Theatre Productions will adapt and create roles based on the individuals who audition for the performance. Auditions will be cold readings from the script or improvised character interpretations for all ages and abilities. Dragon Theatre asks that actors please come prepared for this type of audition.
Dragon Theatre also has several volunteer positions for production assistants and stage crew available. Interested parties should drop by the auditions and talk to the director.
Blaze the Sky: Dragon Stories for Everyone is based on original stories written by members of the community and actors who participated in Dragon Theatre’s first production of Harm None: A Dragon Anthology, written by Leslie Levengood. The performers have decided to let the fire from that show live on through new stories to be staged this summer in this brand new production. Blaze the Sky will also include new interpretations of Levengood’s original stories.
