Since 1942, and the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Colorado Springs has based our military who have played a vital role in our city’s growth and our nation’s defense. Colorado Springs was chosen to base our United States Army at Camp Carson as troops prepared for World War II. During that time, the city’s municipal airport became known as Peterson Field, providing training for the Army’s heavy bombers. Today, Colorado Springs is home to our military stationed at Fort Carson, Peterson Air Force Base, Shriever Air Force Base, The Air Force Academy and NORAD. Cottonwood Center for the Arts is proud to present “Tribute” to honor our military and their service to our country. Eligibility: The exhibit is open to everyone, all media is acceptable. All work must have been done within the past two years and must not have been previously shown at Cottonwood. All 2-D entries must be framed or gallery wrapped and wired for hanging (no saw-tooth hooks). Selected entries must be exhibited for the duration of the show (June 17th). By entering this show, artist gives permission for work to be photographed and used for publicity. Fees & Commissions: Entry fee is $15.00 / piece A 30% commission on sales will go to Cottonwood Center for the Arts. Liability: Each artist is responsible for his/her own insurance to cover theft or damage to artwork. While the utmost care will be taken in the handling of artwork, in the event of damage to the artwork or framing, Cottonwood will not be liable. Submission of work constitutes an agreement to abide by the rules as set forth in this prospectus. Calendar: May 20th & 21st - 10am– 5pm May 22nd – 10am-2pm Intake - Deliver artwork to Cottonwood May 25th 1-5pm – Pick-up declined work May 28th – 5pm – 8:30pm Opening Reception
