Songs of the Cowboys

Mark L. Gardner, historian, author, and musician, presents a program marking the 100th anniversary of the publication of Jack Thorp's "Songs of the Cowboys." Considered the first published collection of cowboy songs, "Songs of the Cowboys" has become a classic American folk anthology. Gardner will perform these songs, and discuss the life and work of Jack Thorp at this free event.
