Imagination Celebration of Colorado Springs invites families to get swept off their feet into a world of learning, literacy and laughter during its seventh spectacular season of Family Theater at the Pikes Peak Center. This year's season once again offers an affordable opportunity to enjoy delightfully entertaining, literacy-based productions performed by nationally known touring companies. Our fourth heart-warming performance of the season is The Velveteen Rabbit, based on the classic book by Margery Williams and produced by Enchantment Theater of Philadelphia. This is the beloved tale of the friendship of a young boy and his toy rabbit. Although the rabbit is only made of velveteen and sawdust, the wise old Skin Horse assures him that he can become real if he is truly loved by a child and gives love in return. In addition, Imagination Celebration flings open the lobby doors one hour before showtime, offering children a chance to create their own artwork related to the performance at fun, interactive hands-on art stations.
