    In this concert spanning five centuries, the Colorado Vocal Arts Ensemble explores the music of women composers from the Renaissance to the contemporary. "Throughout much of history, women composers have been the exception to the rule," says CVAE's Artistic Director Deborah Jenkins Teske. "They have struggled for opportunity, respect, and recognition, defying convention, and often making great sacrifices in pursuit of their art. This concert is our way of giving them their due."
