If there's any one musical event guaranteed to put you in the spirit of the holidays, it's The Colorado Vocal Arts Ensemble's "Wintersong: A Celebration of the Season." Combining music and spoken word, this hauntingly beautiful choral event is the most popular in CVAE's season. The first performance will use every nook and cranny of Shove Chapel in a unique approach that will surround the audience with the glorious sounds of the human voice. This year's program will span the centuries, including works by John Sheppard, Johannes Brahms, and Bob Chilcott as well as unusual arrangements of traditional favorites. While the styles vary dramatically, there is a common thread that ties them together. As Artistic Director Deborah Jenkins Teske says, "All of this music celebrates the spirit of this special time of year. In its variety, we find expressions of hope and joy and the strength of the human spirit."
