The Colorado Springs School (CSS) invites the public to attend an Opening Reception for artist Jack Frost at the Louisa Performing Arts Center on Friday, November 2nd, 2007 from 7 - 9 p.m. Jack Frost: A Retrospective will feature oil paintings, drawings and sculptures. Paintings filled with soft, muted colors, Frost's art often depicts familiar Colorado and southwestern landscapes. The artist will provide a gallery talk. As a retired high school art teacher, Frost's lessons for students and observers are focused on three basics: composition, color and contrast. Works on exhibit will be available for sale and purchases benefit The Colorado Springs School Visual and Performing Arts Series. The exhibition kicks-off a series of visiting artists at The Colorado Springs School who will be on display throughout the year. A collaboration and outreach of artistic effort the Thursday Night Recital Series and Visiting Artist Program enrich student study, support the local arts scene and welcome the community and neighbors to the Colorado Springs School campus.
