    Monument Valley Park 100th Anniversary Celebration and Summer Nights Film Screening

    The HPA and Friends of Monument Valley Park join in a celebration of the park's 100th anniversary as well as its addition to the National Register of Historic Places in January 2007. Thursday's Events: 5:30 p.m. Bring a picnic supper and join us in the Pavilion with special guests, General and Mrs. Palmer. 6:30 p.m. Dedication of the National Register Plaque by Mayor Lionel Rivera, followed by cake and ice cream. 7:30 p.m. Legends &...

    The HPA and Friends of Monument Valley Park join in a celebration of the park's 100th anniversary as well as its addition to the National Register of Historic Places in January 2007. Thursday's Events: 5:30 p.m. Bring a picnic supper and join us in the Pavilion with special guests, General and Mrs. Palmer. 6:30 p.m. Dedication of the National Register Plaque by Mayor Lionel Rivera, followed by cake and ice cream. 7:30 p.m. Legends & Legacies, a one-hour musical of Colorado Springs' history. Saturday's Events: Morning Activities include a 5k and 10k Centennial Celebration/Grand Prix Classic and a half mile fun run with food, drink, music and prizes! Evening festivities include music, old-fashioned games, Legacy Tree art project and more. Pack a picnic and a blanket for the movie. (Ball fields near Fontanero Street.) Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark will be screened at 9 p.m.
