A Celebration of Aaron Copland is the fifth "Composer Portrait Series" concert presented by the Thursday Night Recital Series and features the ProMusica of the Rockies, some of the region?s leading musicians, in a program that presents the finest chamber, vocal and solo piano music from America?s greatest composer. But this presentation also brings this outspoken art advocate to life through his own words, the thoughts and opinions of his contemporaries and the personal testimony of the performers. Modern Dance, a key component in Copland?s artistic experience is also included. The Colorado Springs Youth Symphony Chamber Ensemble are special guests.
