Break from the herd! Once again, we're reminded that Colorado Springs has a wild west pedigree, and nothing makes this heritage more obvious than the annual Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo. With events like steer wrestling, bareback bronco riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing, team roping and something called "wild cow milking," you're sure to remain on the edge of your seat. This is one of the nation's premier rodeo competitions, and nobody with Wranglers and 'kickers would dare miss it. The event kicks off as always with the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo Parade which makes its way through the heart of downtown at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8. Then Wednesday through Saturday, the PPOB rodeo is in full swing, beginning with pre-show events at 7 p.m. and full-blown rodeo action following at 7:30. A special Saturday matinee is also offered with pre-show at 12:30 p.m., rodeo at 1.
