    This First Friday holds a special treat in store for the west side art lover: a preview of the work of Ellen O'Brien. If you're unfamiliar with the name, O'Brien became a prominent artist among the luminaries in the first wave of the Springs' burgeoning art scene around the turn of the 20th century. The full retrospective of O'Brien's work will premiere at Cucuru in time for June's First Friday ArtWalk. However, Cucuru Gallery's proprietor Guillermo Alvarado is offering a tantalizing sneak preview of Ms. O'Brien's work for May's First Friday event.
