    Enrich Your Life: Introduction to Letter Printing

    In this two-day workshop taught by Colin Frazer, we will investigate the rich history of printing through the manipulation of hand-set metal type at The Press at Colorado College.     In this two-day workshop taught by Colin Frazer, we will investigate the rich history of printing through the manipulation of hand-set metal type at The Press at Colorado College. Each student will learn how to set type by hand, how to mix ink and how to print with it on a cylinder letterpress. Students will design and print their own set of business or greeting cards. Frazer, an educator and printer, has been a letterpress printer for the last eight years. He has exhibited his work regionally and nationally and is an active member of the Rocky Mountain letterpress community. He has worked for Blue Barnhouse letterpress in Asheville, N.C., and his work is included in collections at the Shelburne Museum in Vermont, the Library of Congress and the Rhode Island School of Design Library. He now serves as the director of The Press at Colorado College. Class runs from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. June 14 and 15.
