Pioneers Museum's Hooray for History Day is a free event highlighting the grand 1903 El Paso County Courthouse, now the home of the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum. At 10 a.m. join the Little London Winds for an old fashioned band concert in the park outside the Museum. Children's activities include sidewalk chalk art, a scavenger hunt, balloon animals by Magic Man Balloon Artist Gary Jones, and trick rope demonstrations by Cowboy Steve. Tours featuring the architecture of the 1903 structure housing the Museum begin at 11 a.m.

Free refreshments are provided by our hometown Sinton Dairy and the Friends of the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum.

Event Chair Shirley Biemesderfer says, "This event is intended to just be a fun summer activity for families and anyone in our community. We want to enjoy our beautiful scenery, beautiful historic building, and our wonderful history. We hope everyone will come." Parking is available at meters around the building and in the city parking garage at Cucharras Street and Nevada Avenue. Participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or ground covers to sit on during the concert in the park. The Museum is handicap accessible and located downtown at 215 South Tejon. This morning-long event is sponsored by the Friends of the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum as their gift to the community.

In addition, the C-SPAN Campaign 2008 Bus is making a special stop at the Pioneers Museum  in conjunction with Hooray for History Day.
