Seeing how much their wives enjoy watching male strippers during a "Girls’ Night Out," unemployed steelworkers in Buffalo, N.Y., come up with a bold way to make some quick cash. In the process, they find renewed self-esteem, the importance of friendship and the ability to have fun. David Yazbek has been called “the most impressive Broadway composer to have emerged since the Sondheim generation,” by the International Herald Tribune.

In 2000, an Americanized adaptation of the British version of The Full Monty earned the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Music, along with 10 other Drama Desk and nine Tony nominations.

      I try not to use superlatives in describing a performance, lest I wind up sounding like a breathless, teenage groupie. When it comes to The Full Monty however, I find it impossible not to use... Expand

      I try not to use superlatives in describing a performance, lest I wind up sounding like a breathless, teenage groupie. When it comes to The Full Monty however, I find it impossible not to use them. It is, in a nutshell, exceptional. The pit orchestra provides seamless accompaniment to the superior voices of cast members. Set design and construction is sophisticated and clever, with scene changes happening smoothly and silently, wowing me from the start. Rarely have I seen a live performance so beautifully cast and directed. Each actor projected a character as believable as my next door neighbor (although I?ve never had a neighbor who could sing like that!)Stellar performances from all. If I had one criticism, it would be the scene between Malcolm and his mother, which seemed out of place and poorly timed, adding nothing and detracting from an otherwise nearly flawless production.       I try not to use superlatives in describing a performance, lest I wind up sounding like a breathless, teenage groupie. When it comes to The Full Monty however, I find it impossible not to use them. It is, in a nutshell, exceptional.
