Kim’s relief and intaglio prints, collages, and mixed media pieces range from formal explorations of texture and pattern to metaphorical, personal expressions of the spectrum of emotions. Ideas of personal growth and change inspire Kim’s studio thought process. A Statement from the Artist on her Long Association with the BAC in it’s 20th Year: "I am so pleased that this exhibit of my work will coincide with the BAC’s 20th Anniversary kick-off events in March. I was the second artist to move into the BAC printmaking studio when it first opened. I actually signed my studio artist contract before the printmaking press was delivered, so needed to wait until it was there to move in. I consider myself a BAC success story -- it helped me to set my course after school and find the niche that suits me best. I got both of my current jobs (teaching at PPCC and the Colorado Springs Conservatory -- and many others over the last 18 years) because of contacts I made through the BAC. My association with the BAC has greatly enhanced my career in lots of ways. I have since sent my own students there as they begin their careers in art. I smile at the symmetry of having this show during the Center's anniversary and how it marks important points in my own career as an artist and academic as well as personally. It an important milestone for what has become one of the area's most valuable arts organizations."
