Add Review/CommentChris Price’s first major showing of works, based on a mixture of screen printing, painting and collage will be exhibited in the Business of Arts Center’s Avenue Gallery, February 27th through April 8th. A reception with the artist will be held in conjunction with the BAC’s campus-wide Art Release Event on March 7th from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. Since modern art of the 20th century, the exploitation of technology and thought has allowed artists like Chris to find new tools for use in traditional ways. Chris takes advantage of the old and new, using hand techniques with modern tools and styles. Using patterns and design elements he creates intricate detail and symbolism in his paintings. His influences range from the avant-garde, contemporary, and modern art genres to street inspired art forms and the industrial revolution. Recording the sign of the times, he is a messenger. Chris is also an artist in the BAC’s Resident Studio Program.
