Add Review/CommentRichard Skorman will address Bridging the Green Divide through four key areas.
The Income Divide
Right now, if you have the money, there are lots of options to invest in home energy audits, efficient appliances, alternative power, and high mileage vehicles. Those of modest means in our community who often live in the least efficient homes and drive the worst mileage vehicles, are not able to afford to invest in conservation solutions. Through Conservation Hardware and The Million Bulb Campaign, we will bridge The Income Divide.
The Knowledge Divide
Many consumers want to do the right thing but are confused about how to get the best bang for their buck. Just sorting out which bulb to install in the right socket is a daunting task. In addition, the technology is changing rapidly and it is hard for consumers to keep up. Through Conservation Hardware and the Million Bulb Campaign, we will bridge The Knowledge Divide.
The Political Divide
Many people in our region have historically been skeptical of "environmentalism." They may not believe that global warming is real or that anything humans do, can stop it. Our organization is not going to engage in that "debate." We will help anyone in our community save money, energy and reduce pollution. Through The Colorado Springs Conservation Corps, we will bridge The Political Divide.
The Action Divide
After countless environmental events, workshops, speeches, fairs and summits, many of us just want to get started doing something. The lightbulbs and other inexpensive conservation devices are the way in the door. Then we can help residents in our community understand the easy things they can do to save energy and money. The time for talk is over. The time for action is now. Through Conservation Hardware and The Million Bulb Campaign, we will bridge The Action Divide.-
