    The Business of Art Center (BAC) is offering twelve career skills workshops during 2008-09. An invaluable art career workshop series for artists of all levels who are prepared to take the next step in their visual arts careers. There are 12 workshops. Artists may pick and choose -- go to one or take all twelve. Each course is packed with information, helpful tools, and resources.

    These invaluable courses are a must for all artists and are dynamic workshops for artists of all levels who are prepared to take the next step in their visual arts careers. Attendees will be coached on the essential areas of business that will assist them in launching and sustaining a career in the visual arts. Each month will highlight a different topic.

    May 2009 Workshop
    When Your Business Starts to Roll
    May 21st and May 28th, 6:30-8:00

    Focus: Taking part in an exhibition and working with galleries. This Course Covers: everything from contracts; insurance; framing and shipping your work; handling sales and commissions; overseeing deadlines; to taking charge of your business via online opportunities.
    Guest Speaker (May 28th): J. C. "Pit" Martin, Attorney. Laws regarding the arts, such as: contracts, leases, consignments, collection, damage to art, insurance claims, and the Court system.
