Add Review/CommentJohann Sebastian Bach's 323rd birthday is coming up and since we forgot to paint a mural of him on the side of a building downtown, the way we did for Mozart's 250th birthday, you should get you and yours to First Christian Church for the annual Bach Celebration Concert. Featured selections will include concertos for two harpsichords, for harpsichord and two recorders, and for oboe and violin; sonatas for flute and for cello; an aria for bass; and solo works for organ and harpsichord. The audience will have the opportunity to sing chorales accompanied by the ensemble. A free will offering will be taken, and all are welcome at a reception following the concert. Featured solo performers are Azuduhi Vieira, violin; Gail Coughran, oboe; Phyllis White, flute; Gerald Miller, cello; Nancy Ekberg and Susan Virga, recorders; Joseph Galema, Deke Polifka and Bonnie Linder, harpsichord; and Carol Wilson, organ. The string ensemble players are members of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic Orchestra; continuo players are members of the American Guild of Organists.
