    Classically Alive Salon with Dos Americas & Rudy Melena

    The next Classically Alive music salon will feature the Dos Americas guitar duo-Jim Bosse & Alejandro Davila, plus Rudy Melena (guitar/vocals) and Abe Minzer (piano).     The next Classically Alive music salon will feature the Dos Americas guitar duo-Jim Bosse & Alejandro Davila, plus Rudy Melena (guitar/vocals) and Abe Minzer (piano). Those of you that heard Dos Americas at the July 2008 Classically Alive salon will recall the beauty of that evening. This will be a completely new program, except for the repeat performance of  Suite Indiana, a piece for two guitars and piano by Argentine composer Jorge Cardoso. The suite, with its evocative moods and exciting rhythms, is a work that people always love to hear. 

    Rudy Melena will join Dos Americas in the premiere of the multimedia Concierto de la Afinidad, a performance and visual arts celebration of life. The work contains poetry written and performed by Melena. Artistic photographs that relate to each poem will be projected. The scenic photos, by Jim Bosse (taken during his concert tours) and also by Cañon City professional photographer Roger Jensen, demonstrate the similarities between the United States and Argentina. Music to accompany each poem was selected from three composers; Jim Bosse from the United States; José Paredes and José Luis Dåvila from Argentina. Latin flair, music, poetry, and images will exalt the themes of couples in love, birth, mother and child, father and child, family dining, holidays, dance, teens, elders, and death.
