Bundle up and trek your way in for a close-up, unforgettable Antarctic exploration of life at the South Pole. Explorers participate in a flurry of interactive, hands-on visual, performing and literary arts experiences geared for children and adults. This creative expedition of learning and fun is led by Imagination Celebration and multi-media artist, Mary Helsaple, with many imaginative educators, scientists, and artists of all ages.

The adventure begins as soon as you enter The Citadel's northeast mall entrance (between Burlington Coat Factory and Dillard's) where you'll be amazed by 80 feet of original murals depicting the beautiful, mysterious undersea creatures of Antarctica. Fifteen teens from 12 area high schools, under the direction of professional artist, Douglas Rouse, used eco-friendly paints from The Paint Gallery to create a remarkable transformation of recycled billboards from Lamar Outdoor Advertising. Follow penguin footprints to Cool AntARcTica inside Celebration Place (next to Corral West) to explore a 3 dimensional South pole world and imagine the deep chill while nestled in your Scot's tent at 100 degrees below zero. Experience the creativity contributed by young artists from area schools engaged in dynamic learning! Jump into polar gear and lead an 18 foot authentic polar wooden sled over the ice to research life on our windiest, coldest and driest continent! It is too cool for words – come see for yourself.

This is just the tip of the iceberg! Snowballs are rolling and many adventures are on the way.
