A lot can happen under an umbrella! Featuring work by five different choreographers, CANOPY stays true to Ormao Dance Company’s unique ability to provide something for everybody. Dancers leap off the edge of this world in Ila Conoley’s ‘Drenched in White’, a piece that investigates risk and surrender. Emerging choreographer Sarah Tietje explores how humankind seeks shelter from dangerous and inconvenient natural phenomena in her new work ‘Drying Off’. In what can be described as a whimsical journey of self acceptance, Tiffany Tinsley Weeks premieres her latest choreography in which dancers reveal their limbs from behind three cherry red umbrellas. Known for their exciting collaborations, this time Ormao teams up with guest artists from High Altitude Dance Ensemble (HADE) and saxophone player William Malone in an exciting new work titled ‘Impending’. Attractively priced for the whole family, Canopy is a must-see for dance lovers as well as those with little experience in the performing arts.
