Jazz with Class!
Highlighting the jazz affair will be the presentation of the prestigious crystal "Alice Award" given to a member musician who exhibits not only a high degree of musical talent and experience, but who also possesses those intangible attributes that can only be described as "class." The recipient of this year's award will be saxophonist Steve Harget. Harget's musical career includes 17 years as a member of the USAF Academy Band's Falconaires. Currently he leads one of Colorado's premier dance bands, the Swing Connection Dance Orchestra, of which he has been a member for 40 years. He also enjoys playing in various musical groups as well as backing big name entertainers.
And of course, the Second Sunday Jazz Affair also features the best in local jazz performance: for February, the Brad Eastin Quartet will provide the musical entertainment with Brad on reeds, Sam Pannunzio, piano; Jason Crowe, bass and Henrique de Almeida, drums.
As always, there will be dancing, door prizes, a cash bar plus a cold and hot buffet and dessert bar available for purchase.
