    Children's Art Show at Commonwheel Artists Co-op

    Each year, Commonwheel Artists Co-op joins Manitou Springs Elementary School in presenting the works of gifted young artists from our community. Join us at this delightful display surely to amuse you and your inner child. At Commonwheel, we support children's art education, and the development of each student's creativity.     Each year, Commonwheel Artists Co-op joins Manitou Springs Elementary School in presenting the works of gifted young artists from our community. Join us at this delightful display surely to amuse you and your inner child. At Commonwheel, we support children's art education, and the development of each student's creativity. The student artwork was created using lessons based on line, shape, form, space, color, texture and value. Some of the famous artists the students have studied include Mondrian, Chagall, Klee, Picasso, Van Gogh, DaVinci, and Giacometti. Concepts the students explore include pattern versus texture, two-dimensional versus three-dimensional, facial and figural proportion, foreground, middleground and background. At the open house, marvel at the creativity of the student artists, enjoy refreshments, and be entertained by student musical performances. Also enjoy the artwork of our 40 local artists on display. Please join us - the public is always welcome!
