    Expand your creative potential and explore the freedom of contemporary painting with a "free form" painting workshop which focuses on the "under painting" technique and utilizing one's intuition.

    In part one, Lance discusses expressionism and the subconscious' role in painting and shares examples of the under painting technique in several of his pieces. Students will then create many layers of under painting in a random fashion.

    In part two, students look at their canvases that reveal the images that they have created subconsciously. Those images lead the students to render a subject and complete their painting.

    Lance Green is a master colorist and an expressionist extraordinaire. His paintings burst with unheard of hues and bristle with primitive emotion. With a maturity in his work that only comes with decades of fearless exploration and a disciplined ability to paint by deep instinct, he works his magic in a state of total abandonment, beckoning the observer to experience them in a similar state.
