Come join us for the very first opening at the Cottonwood Center for the Arts' new home at 427 E. Colorado Ave. (just east of Wahsatch Avenue). This multi-media exhibit will chronicle the journey of Carol Ettenger's creative exploration through art in such media as watercolor, printmaking, oil, acrylic and her fondest medium: encaustic (melted, colored wax).

Carol, a Cottonwood artist, came to Colorado from the East where as an aside from her public school teaching, she worked in watercolor and printmaking. On retiring, she moved to open spaces of the west which allowed her the freedom to experiment in her art. And it was at this time that she discovered her love of encaustics.

This celebratory reception will be held on Saturday, April 11 from 4- 6 p.m. in our Main Gallery. There will be music and light bites to munch on. This show can also be seen from April 3-May 9 during regular gallery hours: Monday-Friday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
