Encaustographis features new works in encaustic (beeswax) painting incorporating drawings, mixed media collage, relief & intaglio prints. Daisy McConnell's work references the natural world, the female body, and an imaginary world that dances between the two. Rich in texture, color and imagery, the luminosity and layers inherent in the encaustic medium add a deeper dimension to works that walk the line between 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional works.

Ms. McConnell will also teach an Encaustic painting workshop during the month of May as a part of our new workshop series in Woodland Park. For workshop details, go to www.smokebrush.org or call the gallery.

Remember, the Smokebrush has moved but has the same address, with a new entrance on the south side of the building!
