April is National Poetry Month, and this exhibition celebrates the intersection of poetry and visual art with a selection of handmade works on paper.

These works have provided a fruitful format in which artists such as James Trissel, Ted Waddell, and Andrew Beckham have responded to passages of verse by poets such as Colorado Springs’s Poet Laureate Aaron Anstett, and Denver’s Poet Laureate Chris Ransick, among others. To extend this spirit of collaboration, the Colorado College’s nationally renowned letterpress shop has loaned many works for the exhibition and Poetry While You Wait has worked with the FAC on scheduling two poetry readings at the FAC Modern.

As part of the exhibition, two poetry readings are scheduled, including a lunchtime reading on April 9 (at noon), and another on April 23 at 7 p.m. which will also feature an open mic portion.
