Class: Enrich Your Life: Army "Culture" and Its Significance for the Colorado Springs Community This seminar will explore how military culture shapes soldiers' and their family members' decisions about how to contend with the effects of combat trauma upon returning home. Some of the broader issues may include the economic and social services impact of military bases on local communities, gender roles and military families, international relations and the military, and ways militarization may be beneficial or problematic for a thriving society. Colorado College anthropology undergraduate students engaged in research with Professor Hautzinger at the Fort Carson base in Colorado Springs over the past two years, which contributes to the issues dealt with in this seminar. Includes buffet dinner. Taught by CC anthropology professor Sarah Hautzinger. Call the CC Arts Festival office to register at 719-389-6098 or register online at http://www.coloradocollege.edu/SummerPrograms/EnrichYourLife/. Sponsored by the CC Summer Festival of the Arts.
