Join us for a gallery talk with artist Daisy McConnell where she will describe her journey in art and the various processes she specializes in, especially the ancient Greek method of painting with beeswax.

McConnell's exhibition, Encaustographis, features new works in Encaustic (beeswax) painting incorporating drawings, mixed media collage, relief and intaglio prints. Daisy's work references the natural world, the female body and an imaginary world that dances between the two. Rich in texture, color and imagery, the luminosity and layers inherent in the Encaustic medium add a deeper dimension to works that walk the line between 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional works.

Daisy McConnell has been exhibiting her mixed-media art in Western and Midwestern galleries and art spaces for the past decade. She was born in Italy and raised around the world, the daughter of two artists. McConnell is currently Assistant to the Curator of the Inter Disciplinary Experimental Arts Program at Colorado College.
