Quetzals music combines Mexican and Cuban rhythms, jazz, and rock behind the powerful vocals of siblings Martha and Gabriel Gonzalez. The group was formed in East Los Angeles by guitarist-composer Quetzal Flores, who wanted the band to not only have a unique sound, but also a social consciousness. They have been hailed by Los Lobos and others as the new torch bearers of Chicano music. This is the first concert of the 2009 World Music Series...
