Join us First Friday, June 5 from 5-8pm for the opening reception of BREEZE, a group invitational exhibition of artistic interpretations of the idea of wind. Enjoy conceptual, literal and kinetic works that illustrate a breadth of ways artists incorporate ideas about wind in their artwork. Also, become exposed to the symbiotic relationship of art, design and eco-technologies!

BREEZE promises to blow minds by offering innovative artwork relating to wind. This group show features gigantic bug art kites by Boulder duo Airworks (George Peterson & Melanie Walker), whimsical, kinetic sculptures in iron by Julie Burnham, elegant and kinetic copper water sculptures by Fort Collins' Robert Howard, conceptually whimsical and provoking video work by New Orleans duo Hot Iron Press (Jenny LeBlanc & Kyle Bravo), a video by Australia's Norie Neumark and Maria Miranda that will whisk you into another dimension about wind, a vintage museum-quality bronze by Starr Kempf and a special wind installation on our dock by Steve Wood and Concrete Couch. Opening evening features a wind turbine demonstration & information in our parking lot by Cheyenne Wind Energy Inc., and live music and kinetic art on the dock! STEVE WOOD will teach a Kinetic Sculpture Workshop the weekend of June 20 as a part of our B.I.G. Idea Workshops program. A full description of the B.I.G. Idea Workshops program can be found at www.smokebrush.org.
