The Rocky Mountain Chautauqua returns to Tri-Lakes center for the Arts on Saturday, August 8 at 6:30 p.m. Enjoy dinner, catered by Amuze Bistro, as the Spotlight Community Theatre presents George M. Cohen's 45 Minutes from Broadway. Proceeds benefit Tri-Lakes Center for the Arts and the Palmer Lake Historical Society.

The Chautauqua movement was the first mass educational and cultural movement in US History. Starting in 1874 troupes of educators speakers and entertainers traveled throughout the country bringing educational, cultural and recreational programs to people in non-urban areas. Palmer Lake was the site of the first Chautauqua movement in Colorado. This year the town of Palmer Lake remembers the Chautauqua with a weekend of celebration, including a dinner-theatre at the Tri-Lakes Center for the Arts.
