    Please join us for the opening reception of "The 30-Day Portrait Experience," with works of Brett Andrus and Lindsay Hand.

    Local artists Brett Andrus and Lindsay Hand have undertaken the ambitious project of painting 10 local artists and downtown personae in just 30 days. Andrus, a Colorado Springs native and graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design, sees the project as a challenging way to create dialogue between artists and their subjects and make new connections across different artistic genres. Lindsay Hand, who has recently moved back to Colorado Springs from Denver and is an instructor with Futureself, enjoyed the creative energy that each subject brought to their portrait.

    The opening reception for "The 30-Day Portrait Experience" takes place on Friday, August 15th from 5:30 until midnight. There will be live music by Rence Seyb at 8 pm, and 8-Track Soul will spin beginning at 9. There will also be a guest performance by Soul Mechanics, and food will be catered by Montague's. The show runs through Friday, September 4th.

      This is an excellent show. We are so fortunate to have Lindsay Hand back in town after a brief hiatus. Beautiful work.
