The Woodland Music Seres Presents the "Big Band Bash." This concert features the music of three big bands: The Bill Emery Big Band, Swing Factory, and The Little Big Band. This is dance music at its finest. The concert is outdoors "On the Green" adjacent to the Ute Pass Cultural Center. If weather becomes severe, the concert will not be cancelled, rather moved inside. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets.
Bill Emery Big Band - Since 2001, Bill Emery has been a bit part of the Pikes Peak region's music scene leading the community based New Century Big Band, his Jazztime Quartet, and professional groups such as The Stardust Orchestra and The Bill Emery Band.
Swing Factory - Under the direction of Craig Harms, this 18-piece big band is an all-volunteer jazz ensemble primarily from the Woodland Park Wind Symphony. The band is comprised of teachers, doctors, tax preparers, students, authors, soldiers, and retired individuals who simply enjoy playing their instruments.
Little Big Band - The Little Big Band is a 6 piece ensemble, performing contemporary and standard Swing, Blues, Rock, R&B, Country, Dixieland and Ballroom Dance Music. The group's colorful musical arrangements feature every member of this versatile ensemble. The resulting sound is a unique and robust expression of an American original art form as well as high class cover material.
