Training Rules: For 25 years, Penn State University women’s basketball coach, Rene Portland made her training rules (no drugs, no drinking, no lesbians) eminently clear. For decades basketball players were forced to hide their identities or risk losing their scholarships. But in 2006, sophomore Jennifer Harris sued the iconic coach and Penn State for discrimination. (Directed by Dee Moshbacher and Fawn Yacker 2009, USA, 57 min.)

Edie & Thea, A Very Long Engagement: After 42 years, feisty and delightful lesbian couple Edie and Thea are finally getting married. From the early '60s to the present day, these tireless community activists persevere through many battles, both personal and political. This is a love story of two remarkable women whose commitment to each other is an inspiration to us all. (Directed by Greta Olafsdottir and Susan Muska 2009, USA, 67 min.)

The Pikes Peak Lavender Film Festival is the only completely LGBT film festival in Colorado, and has been held in Colorado Springs since 1999. The festival programmers select from the best short films and features screened at the annual San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival. The Lavender Film Festival is held over a three-day period, opening on a Friday evening with a reception and continuing through Sunday.
