    2009 Opera Rocks the Rockies Tour

    Central City Opera and the University of Colorado at Boulder’s Department of Opera Studies partner each year to offer performance opportunities to promising young artists through a regional touring program.     Central City Opera and the University of Colorado at Boulder’s Department of Opera Studies partner each year to offer performance opportunities to promising young artists through a regional touring program. This year, the touring artists will perform and give vocal master classes for middle and high school students, and will perform community concerts featuring music from Don Giovanni, Madame Butterfly, Orpheus in the Underworld, Ned Rorem's new opera, Our Town and other opera favorites, plus a detour into the rock world with Rent and "Bohemian Rhapsody." The concert will also include performances by Colorado Springs Conservatory faculty, students and alumni.
