    Opening reception for Works of Lorenzo White and Doug Rouse

    The Modbo's newest show features works by local artists Lorenzo White and Douglas Rouse. Lorenzo White, 21, is a FutureSelf graduate who has shown frequently in town in the past few years. His work has been mostly influenced by cubism and modernism.     The Modbo's newest show features works by local artists Lorenzo White and Douglas Rouse. Lorenzo White, 21, is a FutureSelf graduate who has shown frequently in town in the past few years. His work has been mostly influenced by cubism and modernism. You may have recently seen him painting on the street -- he has been gaining popularity selling sketches on downtown street corners to passersby. His latest body of work is moving towards a more refined narrative/figurative style. Douglas Rouse is a self-taught, self-employed local artist who is known for his murals and trompe l'oeil painting. He has spent the last year and a half deeply engaged in personal development and created a new body of work for The Modbo in order to illustrate his struggle to be a unique force in the art world.

    The reception begins at 5:30 pm and lasts until midnight. There will be live music at 9 pm. by Munster Boogie, an alt-country/goth-americana band. After the band, 8 Track Soul will be spinning tracks for your dancing pleasure.

    The Modbo is open on Friday nights at 5:30 pm and by appointment at 633-4240 or themodbo@gmail.com
