The Modbo is pleased to present its first ever art installation by Wendy Mike, local artist and FutureSelf founding director. Before moving to Colorado Springs in 1994, Mike was a singer, dancer, actress, and artist in New York City. Although she has produced art sporadically in the past few years, Mike sees this show, A Paper Doll That I Can Call My Own, as her re-emergence as an individual artist.  "It's been my privilege to facilitate the creative growth of young people over the years, and I'm excited to now have the opportunity to create something of my own," says Mike. She's also looking forward to creating something conceptual and different. This installation is about an idea and an experience, rather than a product.

Open for just two nights, Friday, January 22nd and Saturday, January 23rd, A Paper Doll That I Can Call My Own will have a strong interactive component for the audience, with the possibility of taking home a souvenir of your creation.  "This show is all about fun and play and the idea of our appearance–how we perceive ourselves," says Mike.
